Cafés are a favorite hangout of individuals from all ages. They provide a place where anybody can grab a meal, sip a cup of their favorite coffee or hang out with close buddies. People love hanging out in a café for many reasons. One of these reasons can be the food or the service. Another can be the location. But there is one more reason why customers hang out in their favorite cafés. The place offers a chance for its customers to relax and unwind even for just a few hours. And we all know that the key to comfort is all in the chairs people sit on.
Cafe Chairs – Outdoor Style!
Here’s a cool little clip of 12 really cool looking chairs that would give you the feel of being in a cafe on your own patio.
An excellent cafe chair is one that is inviting. The look of this chair can make or break a café’s business performance. Therefore, the chairs in a cafe should scream rest and relaxation in just one glance. They should be stylish and should match with the other stuff in the place to be able to create a good ambiance. In other words, the chairs should be able to give that vital first impression so that they can attract any possible customer.
When the attention of the customer is now on the café furniture, they must now prove that it is not all looks. Not only does it look comfortable but it must be comfortable as well. This vital piece of furniture must now prove its substance and quality. An excellent chair, may it be a couch, an armchair or a loveseat, should be able to provide a soft support to the consumer’s bottom. At the same time, it should also support the back of anybody that rests on it. Another quality of a comfortable chair is that it should be of the right height so that any client can rest his feet on the floor and it also matches the height of the café tables. If the chair has the appropriate height, it will make standing and reaching for food easy for the customers.Cafe chairs may be overlooked by the café’s customers but in reality it is one of the reasons why the customers hang around and why they come back. It is an essential element for the business to grow and flourish.
Bentwood Cafe Chairs
Here’s a nifty little video I found that goes through some of the history of Bentwood furniture and their chairs. It goes through how they came up with the idea of watching boatmakers use veneer to craft their ships and how he took that idea into furniture making. Realizing that he could achieve longer and greater wood curves if he used thinner material and then glued the strips together to form solid pieces. They used this process to join and bend thin strips of wood into continuous “S” shaped pieces from the back of the chair to the front of the feet. Envisioning a process that would make cafe chairs both lighter and cheaper to produce. See more of this history and some terrific examples of chairs made from this process by watching the video.
